When Keira O’Malley was a child, she used to picture her perfect wedding. The flowers. The dress. Her husband. But nothing could have prepared her for saying “I do” to Dmitri Romanov—cold, domineering and always one step ahead of everyone else in the ever-shifting power plays of New York City. She agreed to his bargain to secure peace for her family, and she may want the bastard more than she’d ever admit, but she’ll be damned if she’ll make this marriage easy for him.
Dmitri knows better than to underestimate Keira for one second. Molten desire smolders between them, a dangerous addiction neither can resist. But his enemies are already on the move, and he needs every ounce of his legendary focus and control to keep them alive. Keira could just be his secret weapon—if she doesn’t bring him to his knees first.
Thank you so much to @foreverromance for sending me a copy of The Bastard’s Bargain by Katee Robert!!
The Bastard’s Bargain is book 6 in The O’Malleys Series and one should probably read the first 5 books before this book. However, I’m a rebel so of course I didn’t do that 😂 but I have read a good amount of mafia books, so I picked up pretty quickly what went down between the different mafia groups leading into this book.
The book opens with Kiera O’Malley agreeing to marry Dmitri Romanov in order to create peace between their families. Enough blood has been shed and if she can stop it from happening further than she has to try. She starts off by pushing the limits and making the arrangement far from easy for Dmitri. He promised her protection, but he didn’t promise her love, but that doesn’t stop her from falling for him as she catches glimpses of the caring softer side of Dmitri under his cold mask.
Dmitri is dealing with outside threats, regaining the respect from his extended family, and finding a traitor in his house, so he doesn’t have time to play Kiera’s games. He doesn’t deny the physical attraction, but he doesn’t want to be the one to make the first move, he leaves that all to Kiera. Love was never on the table between them, but she starts to make him feel things he’s never felt for someone before. But can they both risk trusting the other and letting their walls down to expose how they feel?
God I am absolute trash for Dmitri and for that reason alone I will read the previous 5 books just to catch glimpses of the handsome devil. I also have a girl crush on Kiera, that girl was a hot mess, but she pulled her shit together, with help from Dmitri, and embraced her bad ass self. Seriously the two of them together were perfection, from their explosive sexual chemistry to having each others backs outside of the bedroom. This book has some of the hottest sex scenes I have read in a while and I loved every second of them 🔥🔥
If you enjoy mafia romances The Bastard’s Bargain is a 5 🌟 must read!
“The weight of his body against hers was the most intoxicating thing in the world. It buoyed her and steadied her at the same time.”
“She smirked up at him. “Someone’s feeling possessive.”
“Where you’re concerned? Always.”
