He’s giving her children a season of wonder…
Dani Capelli seized a chance to start over in a small town with her daughters. Now, facing her first Christmas in Haven Point, she wonders if leaving New York was a mistake. Dani loves working alongside veterinarian Dr. Morales, but her two children aren’t adjusting to small-town life. And then there’s Dr. Morales’s son, Ruben—Dani’s next-door neighbor. Gorgeous, muscled and dependable, the deputy sheriff is everything she secretly craves and can’t bear to risk loving…and losing.
Ruben never pictured himself falling for a big-city woman like Dani. But beneath her prickly facade, she’s caring and softhearted and she needs all the love and protection he can give. When Dani’s teenage daughter starts acting out, Ruben draws on family traditions to show the girls just how magical a Haven Point Christmas can be. But can he convince Dani that she’s found a home for the holidays—and forever—in his arms?

Season of Wonder by RaeAnne Thayne is a heart-warming holiday story guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
Dani Capelli is trying to build a stable future for her daughters and herself in the small town of Haven Point. She keeps to herself, works hard and cares for her girls. She blames herself for her ex-husbands wrongs and feels like the town would treat them differently if they knew. Therefore, she stops herself from making friends or allowing people close. The last thing she needs is to get attached to her attractive neighbor next door. In her eyes she isn’t worthy of a man like him but he slowly works his way through the walls she’s built up.
Sheriff Ruben Morales hasn’t been able to stop thinking about Dani since she moved in next door. He knows there’s more than meets the eye when it comes to her, and he’s determined to find out what made her so closed off. When Dani’s oldest finds herself in trouble he steps up to help out. The more time he spends with the family the more he falls for Dani and her girls. But can she ever stop feeling unworthy and allow herself to trust him and let down her walls.
I loved all the characters, especially Dani and her girls. Dani was a great mother figure, strong and smart. The youngest girl was absolutely adorable and the oldest had realistic teenage troubles.
Season of Wonder is a clean romance with some emotional kisses that leave you with hope. A story about family, community, and helpings those around you. To spread Christmas cheer and try to look for the best in people.
“She didn’t want the kiss to end. It was magical, delicious, like a hundred dreams come true wrapped up in one heated embrace.”
“He kissed the top of her head and she stayed there a few minutes longer, her arms around his waist while the snow swirled around them.”
