Pretty things don’t distract me. In my line of work, a distraction will get you caught.
Or in my case, blackmailed. But this isn’t the only time I’ve been hustled, and soon
Connor Hayes will learn that men are only pawns in my end game. I don’t love. I
hate. Even a pretty boy like him.

Two wrongs don’t make a right. Except when they are five-foot-seven and hotter
than my exhaust pipe. So, I blackmailed her. It was either that or turn her in. And if
anyone was going to put her in handcuffs, it was going to be me. Bianca Morgan
stole the only woman I’ve ever loved. It’s only fair she replace her.

About the Author:
A self-proclaimed reader enthusiast, Kristy started her writing journey back in
2009, reading and writing when her daughter was napping. Establishing her place in
Corporate America (because something had to pay the bills), writing became her
dirty, late-night secret.
After eight long years, she released her debut novel, Commander in
. It was a long road, but she can honestly say, the road less traveled had
the most beautiful sights.
The only thing Kristy Marie loves as much as reading and writing is sports!
Especially those that require muscles and a nice ass. Her favorite is, and always will
be, baseball. She’s such a fan, that she even married her small town’s high school’s
centerfielder where they still live with their three badass kids.

[I received a digital arc for an honest review]

“Are you trying to make me fall in love with you, darlin’?”

I love the Commander in Brief series by Kristy Marie so damn much. I was very excited for Connor Hayes’ story and it did not disappoint.

All you have to do is ask me, darlin’. I have no problem bowing to a beautiful woman.”

Bianca doesn’t trust men, they are only good for one thing, and even then she can take care of her needs better than they can. She does what she needs to in order to survive and support her mother. When she steals Connor Hayes’ motorcycle its just another job until very quickly it isn’t. Hayes is a ladies man with his good looks and easy smile. He gets lost in women to keep his mind of his past and the thoughts that haunt him. When Bianca steals his car he’s left speechless, angry, and horny. He wants his bike back but is also itching to learn more about what makes her tick. He makes her a bargain that has them turning from strangers into friends and more. Hayes shows her that not all men are the same and that leaning on someone else doesn’t make you any less strong of a person.

”  All I know is this woman has piqued my interest, and I’m not ready to let her go yet, bike or no bike.”

Connor Hayes was as sexy, fun and swoon worthy as I knew he would be and his backstory broke my heart. Even though I adore Hayes, Bianca stole the spotlight in Drifter. She was just so bad ass, ‘I am woman hear me roar’. She had every reason to act the way she did and she was such a strong person even if she didn’t see herself that way. Connor and Bianca were perfect for each other. They pushed each others buttons and knew when to let up. Their banter was fun and ranged from flirty to sweet. Connors’ patience with Bianca and his care for her mother made my heart happy. It was also wonderful to see all my favorite members of Hayes’ family, they were as crazy and ridiculous as I remembered.

Drifter by Kristy Marie is a slow burn romance that will leave you completely satisfied. I highly recommend it to romance readers, along with the first two books in her Commander in Brief series.

” F***. This man is going to ruin me. I know it. I can feel it dancing in the air around me.”

“Stop trying to make me fall in love with you, Connor Hayes. My heart is a cold, dead organ. Not even a pretty face and sweet words will revive it.”
