The boy who once made my life a living hell is now the only way to save my family from living on the streets.

I wish he’d just stayed wherever he’s been for the past four years. That is, blissfully out of my life and nowhere near our little country town.

But in my weakest moment, he arrived like some knight in shining armour. One I never wanted or asked for. I should have run him down with my wheelchair. But I didn’t. I got in his car. And now I have to see his beautiful damn face every damn day.
And that’s my worst nightmare. Because the things he once said can’t be unheard. The hell he put me through can’t be forgotten. The man he is now can’t be forgiven for the boy he once was.

And yet, I want him.

Set in a country town in rural Australia, Only the Negatives is a second chance, enemies to lovers romance, featuring a strong, disabled heroine and the man willing to do anything for another chance.

“If you love Colleen Hoover or Melissa Foster, you’ll want to devour Elle Thorpe’s hot new series.” USA TODAY best selling author, C.M. Albert.

aboutheauthorElle Thorpe lives on the
sunny east coast of Australia, about an hour out of Sydney. When she’s not writing stories full
of kissing and chemistry, she’s a wife, and Mummy to three tiny humans. She’s also official
ball thrower to one slobbery dog named Rollo. Yes, she named a female dog after a male character
on Vikings. Don’t judge her. Elle is a complete and utter fangirl at heart, obsessing over The Walking
Dead and Outlander to an unhealthy degree. But she wouldn’t change a thing.

[I received a digital arc for an honest review]

I’m not breakable”
I flinched. “I didn’t say you were.”
[…] “You’re the least breakable person I know.”

Only the Negatives by Elle Thorpe is the third installment to her Only You series. Each can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading each one because they are wonderful.

Gemma has been in a wheelchair since a horse riding accident when she was little, but she doesn’t let it hold her back from helping out on her parents farm and doing what needs to get done. She used to have a best friend in her neighbor, Adam Ryker, but she lost that when she started high school, and he turned into a bully. He made her high school years hell and now all these years later she finds herself depending on his help.

Ryker made a lot of stupid decision has a kid, and he grew up regretting a lot of them, especially the way he treated Gemma in school. He left their small town to get away from his less than great home life, and after making even more bad decisions, finds himself back where he started. When Gemma’s family needs help on the farm he jumps at the opportunity to apologize and help in any way he can. He’s not the same boy he was, and he tries his hardest to prove it to her.

Only The Negatives is probably one of the best second chances romances I have read in a really long time. It was sweet and hopeful. A story about going for your dreams and never giving up, even if you fail. Gemma was such a great character who felt her emotions strongly. Ryker was absolutely adorable, his patience, care and support for everything Gemma does was honorable. When they come together, your heart can’t help but melt over the innocence and love between them. Their love was simply beautiful.

Elle Thorpe’s Only You series has been great but I think Only the Negatives shines the brightest and is hands down my favorite of the series.

Her eyes fluttered closed, and my heart beat wildly. F***, I wanted to kiss her. I wanted to kiss her more than any woman I’d ever kissed before.”

“Holding me so gently , yet with so much strength. Replacing the hate I’d once felt with something so warm and tender.”
