I’m the darling of Australian TV. A good-girl actress with a spotless record. Or at least, that’s what I let the public believe. But what I do behind closed doors would shock them all. I’m a far cry from the girl next door I play on their screens each night.

Riley Clarke knows that better than anyone.

I loved him once, but for the past ten years, all we’ve done is f**k and fight. Some might say we’re friends with benefits, but the truth is, we aren’t even friends. All we are is explosive chemistry and screw-you-senseless sex. He makes me hot. He makes me feel. He makes me reckless.

When scandal rocks my carefully constructed world and my secrets are exposed, it’s Riley’s arms that close around me, protecting me from the storm.

But storms create floods, and a flood can drown you. You and the people you love.

SERIES NOW COMPLETE!

Author Bio

Elle Thorpe lives on the sunny east coast of Australia, about an hour out of Sydney. When she’s not writing stories full of kissing and chemistry, she’s a wife, and Mummy to three tiny humans. She’s also official ball thrower to one slobbery dog named Rollo. Yes, she named a female dog after a male character on Vikings. Don’t judge her. Elle is a complete and utter fangirl at heart, obsessing over The Walking Dead and Outlander to an unhealthy degree. But she wouldn’t change a thing.

[I received a digital arc for an honest review]
Only the Beginning by Elle Thorpe is the fourth book in her Only You series. This installment gives us the history of Riley and Bianca and explores their intense relationship.
“I wanted her to know that no matter what the hell had happened or would happen in the future – she was mine.”
Bianca and Riley have spent the past ten years fighting and having angry sex. They have finally decided enough is enough and either need to give each other up or give their feelings a real shot. However, with Bianca a famous Australian actress and Riley a carpenter, Riley might have trouble fitting into Bianca’s world.
“All I cared about was the man I knew I had to let go.”
Bianca and Riley are both such strong characters. Bianca’s character for me took bit of warming up to. She isn’t a lovey dovey feelings type of girl but those in her life that she cares for, she cares for deeply. Family is so important to her, and she will put it before her own happiness. I loved Riley from the start, he is a great dad and always there for his friends and family. Together they are chaos, because no matter how much they hurt each other they can’t let go. It was hard to watch two people so in love have the odds constantly staked against them.
“There was no denying that if Bianca needed me, I was going to drop everything for her and run. I always had. And I always would.”
Once again, Elle Thorpe give us great characters and a story that has a few unexpected twists. Only the Beginning, is love to hate to love romance full of second chances, family, and fighting for love.

“I’d kiss every inch of her a thousand times over if she’d just let me.”

“I wrapped my arms around his waist, marveling at how much he cared for me, even when his own world was falling apart. He was a good man. A man I didn’t deserve.”
