Wild, Crazy Hearts by Melissa Foster is the 4th book in her Bradens & Montgomerys: Pleasant Hill – Oak Falls series. Don’t worry this and all the books in the series can be read and enjoyed as a standalone.
This book brings us the crazy, intense, roller coaster ride of a relationship that is Brindle and Trace. They have been constantly on and off again since they were teenagers. As adults, they are at a point where they both care deeply for the other but are afraid to show it in fear of pushing the other away. After running away to Paris for months to work on her feelings, Brindle returns with baby news for Trace. Right away assumptions are made, and hurtful words are spoken. Both Trace and Brindle have to work on their communication and trust if they want to make things work.
Brindle and Trace’s relationship is exhausting to read about. They are intense, highly emotional, sexually charged and seriously lacking in the communication department. When they are on and things are good, they are excellent. They have such a great time together, dancing and having fun. They are #couplegoals , finishing each others sentences and being in tune with each others body language. However, when they are off they turn immature and angry real quick.
Overall, Wild, Crazy Hearts was a passionate small town country romance about two people working through and acknowledging their faults to build something perfect for them. The story is entertaining from the beginning to end, even if things got a little too cheesy for me at some points. I’m really looking forward to future books in the series and seeing Brindle’s single sisters finding their matches.
