Blood of Zeus is the start of a new fantasy romance series by authors Meredith Wild and Angel Payne. While Angel Payne is a new author to me, Meredith Wild is one whose story telling never fails to entertain.

Kara is a demon whose future is already mapped out for her, and she has no say in the matter. Maximus is a man who has more than human qualities. When the two meet the effect they have on each other is too strong for them to deny. With more than the fact the he is her professor and she is his student, there is much more at stake and keeping them from being together. In the end will she risk it all to be with him completely.

This book is so many things, mysterious, sensual ,captivating . I really enjoyed the characters and the world the authors have created. There’re layers of forbidden love but undeniable connection between the characters. The intensity between Kara and Maximus sets the pages on fire. The angst builds and builds until it explodes in passion. The story is filled with the half-truths the characters tell each other, everyone afraid to unveil their realities, but as a reader it’s easy enough to piece everything together.

“I relinquish my need to breather to stay inside the kiss as long as I can. Eternity this way would be fine, I think, inside the chaos of my mind.”

Blood of Zeus is a story filled with literature, mythology, demons and Gods. Thankfully it doesn’t end on a “throw the book at the wall” cliffhanger but it WILL leave you anticipated what’s going to come next.
