Don’t fall for your enemy…especially when he’s your new roomate.
Dean Evans is the worst.
Not only does the devil in disguise steal my pie on a regular basis, he also lives in the apartment right. Next. Door.
I see him all the time. At the mailboxes. In the elevator.
Every single morning.
It’s exhausting because he’s exhausting.
Now, after setting his apartment on fire, he’s my roommate…and he’s the worst at that too.
I don’t know what possessed me to let him stay with me. Pity, perhaps?
I do know that I won’t be falling for his charm.
Or that panty-dropping smirk.
His quick wit.
That body he works so hard for.
Nope. Not falling for any of it…least of all him.
There might be a fine line between love and hate, but I know exactly where I stand.

[I received a digital arc for an honest review]
Loathe Thy Neighbor is the first book in the new Roommate Romps series by Teagan Hunter. River is a workaholic business owner with a love of pie, her friends, her cat and her shop. Her life is busy but good except for her neighbor, Dean. Dean is a fifth grade teacher who fills his life with teaching, volunteering and listening/playing music. His hate battle with River comes a head when he finds himself out an apartment after a fire. Shockingly River offers to let him stay with her, and he accepts. With all the tension building between them sharing an apartment River and Dean start sleeping together, but can it stay simple knowing that Dean’s apartment will be ready, and they’ll go back to being neighbors?
“What’s that saying? Love and hate are two sides of the same coin?”
River Winter was a bit of a hot mess but you couldn’t help but relate to her. From her obsession with pie (she’s right in cherry pie being the superior pie), eating dessert in the bathtub and dressing in her bum clothes because who doesn’t love joggers and holey shirts? Dean was a great mix of swoony and dorky with his chiseled abs and emotional support turtle. It didn’t matter if they were at each others throats or pawing at each others clothes, their chemistry was off the charts and hot as hell. Seriously somehow everything turned into an argument but it perfectly built the sexual tension between that had a climax well worth the wait.
“How can you loathe someone so much and still feel this good because of them?”
I love a good enemies to lovers trope and this one easily fits into the category. However, I disliked how absolutely immature River and Dean were in the beginning, being petty and arguing for the sake of arguing. The sexual tension was on point though and once they started to let their real personalities out to each other I really enjoyed them. Their banter and interactions lead to extremely steamy scenes and some sweet moments that they didn’t want to have happen but totally left you going awwww.
“Is it crazy to say I’ve missed this? Missed her mouth on mine. Missed the way her body feels under my hands. The sounds she makes. Her eagerness. Her.”
Teagan Hunter always writes fun , agnsty, steamy , romantic comedies and Loathe Thy Neighbor was everything I expected of it. Whether it was their fighting, thier entertaining pets, or thier honest meddling friends this story was a lot of fun. With a great group of friends needing HEAs we have a lot to look forward to in this new series.
