Fire by Molly McAdams _ Release Day Blitz & Book Review

The final stand-alone romance novel in the Brewed series

I’m the oldest of all the Dixon boys.

Yeah, that family.

And, yeah, that Dixon. The one with a notorious temper and devastating fists.

My family tried everything short of giving up on me, but there’s only one person who can calm me.

Savannah Riley Dixon.

Girl next door. My best friend.

Sweeter than honey and stronger than whiskey. And the answer to my enraged soul.

From the moment she came skipping onto our ranch when we were kids, I knew she was my future—my everything.

One touch, the fire in me cools.

One kiss, that rage melts away.

But the girl who’s stood by my side through brawls, cop cars, and kids of our own warned me years ago: One more fight, and she’s gone.

For her, I’d do anything.

I’d lower my fists. I’d rein it all in. I’d stop the damn world.

But when someone threatens our marriage, all I see is red.

Molly grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband, daughter, and fur babies. When she’s not diving into the world of her characters, some of her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling, and long walks on the beach . . . which roughly translates to being a homebody and dishing out movie quotes with her hubby. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies and loves curling up in a fluffy blanket during a thunderstorm . . . or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren’t really happening.

[I received a digital arc for an honest review]

“You’re not just my best friend, Savannah. You’re everything.”

Oh goodness This book hurt my soul. I usually start my review with the name and the title of the book I’m reviewing, but I felt that statement should go first. Fire is the 4th book in Molly McAdams Brewed series. Now I guess you could read this as a standalone, but I highly recommend at least reading book 3, Glow, because the main event that affects the couple in this one is intertwined with that one. Of course, I do recommend you just read from the beginning because the entire series is wonderful.

“And losing Savannah? That wasn’t something I’d survive . Ever.”

Fire deals with the aftermath of a lie from 13 years ago finally coming to light. Ripping apart the marriage of Savannah and Beau Dixon. Disrupting their happy family and destroying both their hearts. Through flashback chapters we get to experience these childhood sweethearts falling in love and fighting for the right to be together. Dual point of views help us feel the depth of Beaus anger, frustration, and love and Savannah’s love, understanding and faith in him. Your heart breaks as Beau tries to hold on to his wife and family and Savannah falls apart under the weight of her emotions.

“Making my soul sing and my chest wrench open. Stealing my heart repeatedly just to crush it. I’d never been so conflicted or tormented.”

This book slayed me, I don’t even know where to start. I can’t imagine what I would do in Savannah’s place but the way she handled and tried to avoid it was believable. She focus’ on the business and kids so she doesn’t have to face what may or may not happen to her marriage. Beau Beau Beau, he was such an amazing husband and father, so full of love for his family. His struggle with his anger was heartbreaking. I was expecting to cry because hello McAdams always hits in the feels, but I wasn’t expecting them to result from Beau. The more he tries to keep his family together the more it seems to slip through his fingers. Towards the end there’s an event that, because of people false assumptions of him, might destroy his marriage once and for all and the entire scene Beau’s agony over the whole thing finally brought the tears. The unfairness of the way people treated and perceived him when he loved Savannah and his family more than anything, was too for my heart to handle 💔

“Every last breath,” she whispered.”And long after I’m gone,” I murmured against her collarbone.

Fire is an emotional romance about family, love and working together to make it through the hard times. The Brewed series by Molly McAdams is a must-read!
