My True Love is the second stand alone in Melissa Fosters series, The Steeles at Silver Island. A romance between a grumpy war veteran and a little ray of sunshine.

“Jules,” he said huskily.
“Yes,” sailed out in a long, hot breath.
“What are you doing to me?”

Grant has been struggling with a lot in life. Adjusting to being back home, with not being able to go back to the work he loves, to life with a prosthetic, and trying to figure out what his future is going to look like in the long run. Jules has crushed on her older brothers friend for a long time now, and it’s killing her to see him struggling. Having survived cancer when she was young she is always optimistic and uses her cheery disposition to help Grant find happiness and peace. Her determination breaks through the wall he’s built and motivates him to be a better man and build bridges in his life that need mending.

“I don’t need a sign to know that everything I need is right here in my arms.”

This is book is just bursting with all the emotions. Grant’s struggles will break your heart and Jules care and support with fill it back up again. I loved that they create such an easy-going friendship before it blooms into something more. This one is low drama, but that doesn’t mean it was any less entertaining. Grant’s growth and journey to heal with keep you turning pages. The intimacy between them was wonderful, which is no surprise because no one writes intimacy scenes like Melissa Foster they are always steamy as hell and full of passion. The romantic relationship between Grant and Jules is slow and the first half of the book is filled will some angst but when they give into their desires they don’t hold back.

“I’ve been dying to touch you.”
F*ck yes. “Baby , you can touch. taste, or take anything you want.”

My True Love does a fantastic job with two of my favorite tropes, grumpy / sunshine and wounded war hero. As always it was a pleasure to be back in the Love in Bloom universe, where friends and family don’t hesitate to express their love and offer support.
