Priest by Amy Thorn and Raven Amor is the first book in the Disciples of Satan MC series. This dark motorcycle club romance follows the President of the Disciples of Satan MC, Priest, getting captured and imprisoned by the rival MC. He finds his only hope in a hateful Hades prospect named Nico. Nico can’t help seeing Priest as his ticket to escaping the Hades Outlaws once and for all. Two men who should never be allies must rely on each other to escape imminent death and an unknown future.
Priest is rough around the edges to say the least. He is the picture of control when it comes to running the Disciples of Satan and when it comes to his lovers. He never relinquishes even an inch so when Nico comes to his rescue when he’s at his lowest he struggles to trust the budding connection developing between them. When the tables have turned Priest finds himself fighting his unnerving need for control with his need for Nico.
Never in all my life have I been with anyone who has made me want more. Until Nico.
Nico has been brought up in the Hades Outlaws clubhouse and club life is the only thing he’s ever known. He has seen the club fall apart under the leadership of his father and sees Priest as his way out. He immediately connects with Priest and knows that it will take everything to pry him away from the man he has decided is his. Nico keeps his secrets though that threaten to tear him from Priest before they can even really begin.
Maybe that’s why I’m drawn to him. He’s my taste of heaven before he sends me to hell.
Priest is a gritty dark MC romance and you should probably expect that with any MC series. They are not fluffy reads and this book had some gruesome violent moments. I appreciated that the ongoing feud between the two MCs played as important a role as the romance did creating balance in the story. The intimate scenes were rough and steamy, don’t expect warm and fuzzies because you’ll be disappointed.
4 stars for Priest and Nico saving each other from their darkness.
