Budding Attraction is the third stand alone in the Divorced Men’s Club by Saxon James. A steamy romance between an widowed florist and a flirty mechanic.

After Orson’s wife passed he went off the rails and after hitting his lowest turned his life around. He fills his life with his florist shop and his friends of the Divorced Men’s Club, and doesn’t see himself falling in love again. When Ford, the hot tattooed mechanic steps in his shop and flirts with him, it leaves him flustered. When he tells Ford he’s straight, that doesn’t stop the flirtation, and he’s not mad about it. They start a friendship filled with “dates” and as the sexual tension between them grows so does his realization that he might not be a straight as he thought. Orson may be ready to date again, but will he risk falling in love again.
The way he’s got me all twisted up is addictive. I love it and hate it. Wish I could tell what he’s thinking, even as the unknown between us is so exciting.
Orson and Ford are simply great. Ford is a hulking tattooed mechanic whose intimidating at first glance but is a total cinnamon roll. He’s flirty and likes a good time, but he also likes a good reality TV show and helping others. Orson was a sweetheart who isn’t as shy as he comes off and has the softest heart. Orson goes through questioning his sexuality and lands on bi with a 1 on the Kinsley scale, but I really felt like how important emotion and feelings played into his attraction that he could have easily been demi.
If this isn’t love, I don’t think I’ll survive the real thing. It can’t get much better than this.
They each have a past they aren’t proud of, but they don’t let it define them. Together they go on some fun, lighthearted dates that always end up including sexual innuendos at some point. . I lived for their playful banter and flirting! The more they hang out, the stronger Orson’s attraction to Ford grows. Hot damn, the build up and the sexual tension is quality, I wasn’t expecting it with one of them being “straight”. I loved that even when Orson decides to just go full steam ahead with the intimacy, Ford slows them down. There is more than one intimate scene that could set the pages on fire with its steam level, and I loved every moment .🔥
I want to be wrapped around him. Melded with him. Until his breaths are my breaths and his heartbeat sounds in my ears.
Budding Attraction by Saxon James is low drama mm romance filled with all the flowers, canoeing , cuddles , trash TV watching , cars , pumpkin carving , couples costumes, hilarious text chains, hot cocoa, sexual tension, lap dances, and high steam. I already can’t wait to find out which divorced man is next to find love in the series.
